The Re-enchantment of the Body, Movement and Life Classes Penny offers classes in Richmond, Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast, along with weekend intensives. She is also available to teach at retreats or gatherings if you are interested in including any of her offerings and inquiries into your next gathering. These classes are a fusion of twenty-five years of explorations in Fitness, Yoga, Continuum Movement (www.continuummovement.com) Perceptual Inquiry, Em’oceans & Sensations (www.continuummontage.com), personal healing and Penny’s passionate inquiry into the myths, taboos and cultural beliefs about what it means to have a body, be in a body and be an embodied human. Some of the benefits of “working in” this way are: • an increased sense of vitality and wholeness
Is An Invitation: to LAND in the rich well of mystery we call a body. to BREATHE new life into cobwebbed corners and forgotten spaces. to SWIM in the fluid formative waters of unconditional love, to find STRENGTH in gentle and creative ways, to break the ENCHANTMENT (SPELL) of cultural beliefs and ideas about the body and health that keep movement, life and breathe from flowing freely, to REMEMBER the pleasure of being born human, and to DEEPEN awareness in the place of most presence - the body is always HERE! Through explorations in Yoga, Continuum Movement, Perceptual Inquiry and questioning long held beliefs about what it means to be a body, have a body and be an embodied human, we discover the blessings of "working in" rather than "working out". Awareness in the body offers us new resources and invites creative possibilities for health and vitality to express themselves in the body, movement and life. ______________________________________________________________________ The Re-enchantment of the Body, Movement and Life Living Yoga
January 21, February (no class/individual phone sessions with Penny) March 25, April 22, May 20, June 17, July 15, August 12, Sept. 23, Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Dec. 9, 2010. This Year Long Intensive is an invitation to integrate the experience of “modern life” in Western Culture, with deeper awareness and embodiment so that we include the real life of the body in the ordinariness of everyday. Each monthly class will develop through a theme of inquiry, dialogue, “dive time” – exploring movement on our own, poetry, meaning making and creative expression. Each class will offer “micro-practices” to explore in daily life for 21 – 28 days (time between classes), and invite an opportunity to discover the fruit of the practice in the moments of the practice itself – daily life!! Living Yoga – Embodied Devotion in Daily Life, invites you to regain a zest for life, and increase your capacity to perceive the world with the eternal wonder of a child. The infinite creativity of awareness re-enchants our embodied living, allowing old habitual ways of posturing ourselves to meet the world to fall away with ease and grace. We become more adaptable and accepting of the changing scene of life and the body. Living Yoga is the harvest of over twenty-five years of exploring and teaching Fitness, Yoga, Continuum Movement, Perceptual Inquiry, Integrative Embodied Tracking, Creative Explorations in paint, paper and the written word, tracking dreams, and Penny’s ongoing integration of the "happy accidents" that make for an embodied and enchanting life.
