Annual retreats in Paradise Found:
Penny offers four scheduled retreats per year in Paradise Found. All take place near or on the changing of the Seasons, with Dreaming in the Dark in Winter, Spring Renewal in the Spring, Primordial Wisdom in Summer and Re-Dreaming the Second Half of Life in the Autumn. See below for details and dates scheduled.

Re-Dreaming The Second Half of Life Retreat

Adapted from The Second Half of Life, Opening the Eight Gates of Wisdom, Angeles Arrien. This retreat offers women an opportunity to join together in an exploration of what it means to be living in the Second Half of Life in these changing times. It is open to all participants, present and alumni who have taken the 11 month Intensive with Penny.

In the autumn of each year we gather to deepen through dreamtime explorations, time in nature, silence and deep listening. These retreats are in Paradise Found, a 6 ½ acre sanctuary on the Sunshine Coast, where the eight gates are tangibly created to integrate further through the magic and power of the imagination.

See Re-Dreaming The Second Half of Life for details and pre-requisite for attendance at this retreat.

Dreaming in the Dark
Let there be a season
when holiness is heard, and
the splendor of living is revealed.
Stunned to stillness by beauty
we remember who we are and why we are here.
There are inexplicable mysteries.
Rebecca Parker

Throughout history Mystics, Healers, Medicine Men and Women, Yogi’s and Monks have honored the “hibernative call”. Nature mirrors this same incubation process with the season of winter, in order to bring forth new life in the spring.

Honoring the hibernative call serves to channel prana (energy) through alternative portals of life giving and inspiring pathways, perhaps not accessed in our habituated lives. The stillness cultivated is beyond the absence of movement, and we greet the future flowing into the present.

Explorations in breath, sound and movement, based in Continuum Movement, invite us into the unfolding potential of what it means to be an embodied human. Perceptual inquiry and explorations in evolutionary movement offer fresh resources and deepen meaning.

As we journey towards the Winter Solstice and the darkest day of the year we will take up practices that support slowing down and resting into resonance with the rhythm of the natural world. We explore what it means to receive, movement in stillness and the stillness in movement.

Next Date: Friday, January 8 - Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Spring Renewal - Breathe New Life into Your Dreams

Spring is a time of renewal, rebirth and resurrection. It is a time of new growth, where nature mirrors the emerging life within each of us. To “resurrect” is to breathe new life into, to revive and to restore life to. Drawing on the ancient wisdom of the mystics we will dive deep into the creative soup of the Mystery and breathe new life into the dreams that continue to call us. We will whisper sweet sounds of encouragement, offer gestures of praise, and gently urge the neglected and (almost) forgotten dreams of our potential to arise and find their form in creation.

Through the rich resources of Continuum movement, perceptual inquiry, meditation, dreams, journaling, nature, silence and reflection this weekend offers an opportunity to rest into the sweet territory of silence and draw on this potent time in the seasonal cycle to support the uniqueness of what is emerging in each of our lives at this time.

Fresh possibilities awaken in dormant places and we find ourselves, like the new shoots of spring, deeply rooted in rich soil, answering the call of light, water and life to fulfill our life’s dream at this time.

An extended period of silence is included in this three-day retreat to support the unique longings of each individual to be met.

There is also an opportunity to explore Painting from the Inside Out as a portal in our inquiry into the renewal rites of spring.

Accommodations in the Dream Lodge, nourishing meals, a journal & other tools/resources included.

Keep watch for next date.

Primordial Wisdom - A Summer Intensive

Primordial - "existing from the beginning; original; rudimentary; primitive" Websters Dictionary

"Attention is primordial intelligence, consciousness itself." E. Tolle, Stillness Speaks

Too much awareness,
without accompanying experience,
is a skeleton without the flesh of life.

Anais Ni
